CNRS internal mobility – two research engineer positions in scientific computing

Open until June 2, 2024

As part of the CNRS internal mobility campaign for spring 2024, the L2IT has posted two NOEMI (NOuveaux Emplois offerts à la Mobilité Interne) in the IR corps of BAP E for a “Scientific Computing Expert” profile.

For both positions, the scientific computing expert will design and develop computing methods to solve scientific problems relating to simulation and data processing. These activities are part of the ambitious international programs to which L2IT is committed in particle physics (ATLAS experiment at CERN) and cosmology (future LISA space mission). He/she will report to the head of L2IT’s research team “Computation, Algorithms and Data” (CAD, five members) and will work in close collaboration with a physics research team – Gravitational Waves or Particle Physics – and existing CAD colleagues.

A full description of each of these profiles can be found on the CNRS mobility portal:

Are you a design engineer? Are you a research engineer? Interested in taking part in international research projects on the infinitely small or the infinitely large in a young, dynamic laboratory? Don’t hesitate to contact us!

The job descriptions can be adapted to suit the candidates. Training to adapt to the proposed themes is provided (whether in computing or in the field of physics). In fact, both the CNRS and the cosmology and particle physics research community offer a vast choice of thematic schools and training courses on the subjects envisaged here.

This position entitles the holder to the “Indemnité de Référence pour les Informaticiens” (IRI).

Applications must be submitted by June 2, 2024.
